Dr. Cole Christianson

Cole completed his undergraduate degree in biomedical/mechanical engineering at the University of Alberta, where he earned several academic, leadership, and athletic honors—including the William and Mary Hawrysh Memorial Leadership Award, the Edmonton Elks Scholarship (Golden Bears Football), the University of Alberta Academic Excellence Award, and a 2015 Academic All-Canadian designation.

He earned his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the U of A, securing prestigious research honors such as the Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship-Master’s (NSERC) and the Faculty of Engineering Early Career Research Award. Cole subsequently completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Throughout his academic career, he has authored 20 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications specializing in respiratory health and fluid mechanics.

Beyond academia, Cole graduated from the Innovation Masterminds Edmonton (imYEG) pre-accelerator program, receiving mentorship from C-suite executives at DynaLife, Brass Dome Ventures, and Levven Electronics. As co-founder of Pulmvita, Cole has led the company through clinical trials while securing multi-million-dollar institutional, grant, and seed funding to accelerate product commercialization.
